I received an e-mail from a reader who apparently liked our website. However, he had one objection, and pointed out that our use of 'y"sh' (yemach shemo - which means - may his name be erased) on certain individuals, was not only inappropriate but an "isur deoraita" (Torah prohibition) if used while referring to Jews.

There is nothing more appalling than a Jew who betrays his people, his God, his nation and directly or indirectly causes the deaths of fellow Jews. For most Jews that behave in an unacceptable manner, the more religious, pious and righteous Jews have a term they use for them: "tinok she lo nishbar"; Which simply means that the Jew who is behaving in that awful manner never had the chance to learn otherwise. It is not a derogatory term, and in the heart of every 'Torah Jew' there is always the desire to see all Jews behaving in an ethical and loving way. 'Tinok she lo nishbar' is used to describe Jews that have strayed from the path of Torah, Jews that are involved in laude behavior, drugs and sometimes in criminal activities. Jews that are or appear to be religious but stray from the path have committed a greater 'sin' than those who never learned in the first place.

Our reader argues that using a strong term such as ‘y"sh’ in front of names of Jews could be considered a Torah prohibition, or as he puts it, an 'isur deoratia'. Let's examine this for a moment. One individual our reader pointed out was Yitzhak Rabin.

No Jew can be referred to with y"sh in front of his name according to Jewish law. The only exception would be a Jew that commits a Hilul HaShem (desecration of God's name) in public and with no feelings of shame or regret. Let us examine briefly if Rabin could fit this category; And please note that I do not like to bring this subject up especially when Rabin is dead already and has no chance for Tshuva (repentance).

Rabin was a highly decorated soldier of the Hagana under David Ben Gurion, the first Prime Minister of Israel. Rabin, Ben Gurion and the majority of their predecessors that came to settle the land at the turn of the century were for the most part, socialists and atheists that originated from Russia and Eastern Europe for the most part. Not only did the leaders of the Jewish State barely resemble anything Jewish in their behavior and customs, they were particularly anti-religious. For them Zionism was nothing more than a cause worth fighting for, but much like Communism, or Capitalism, or any other ‘ism’. Theodore Herzl whom these Zionists called the ‘Father of Zionism’ once declared that he would have loved to see all Jews convert to Christianity, thus putting an end to anti-Semitism and an end to an old and outdated culture. Many were the early Zionists who even attempted to create a state for Jews in other countries besides ‘Palestine’, i.e. Argentina, Uganda and South Africa.

Unfortunately for Ben Gurion and the Hagana, there were many religious Jews already living in the land, and many more began coming to Israel to join their brethren. Ben Gurion and his followers did not like these religious Jews coming to Israel, but they needed the numbers to impress upon the British landlords and beg them for permission to create a state (see Balfour Declaration).

Jewish fighters who came from all over the world joined the Irgun and the Stern Gang because they could not see eye-to-eye with the leftist and appeasing Jews leading the Jewish Agency and the almost to be born Jewish State.

As the British began turning back boat-loads of Jews, men, women and children, back to Hitler’s y'sh concentration camps, the Jews of the Irgun began smuggling survivors in, as the leftist appeasers began persecuting them to satisfy the British Commanders.

Yitzhak Rabin participated in one of the most horrific events of Israel’s recent history. Following orders from Ben Gurion he shot and sank a boat at the coast of Tel Aviv. The boat was the Altalena carrying Jewish fighters (Cuban, American and Western Europeans) and loaded with weapons to defend the Jews from Arab and British assaults. As they surrendered with 3 Jews already dead aboard, they jumped into the water waiving white handkerchiefs to no avail. Rabin and his cohorts shot and murdered a total of 17 Jews in cold blood. The British were satisfied. Ironically almost 40 years after that bloody day Rabin was murdered in cold blood by a Jew; by whom? It is still a dilemma; the files are more hidden and more confusing than JFK’s assassination and I’m not going there right now.

And there is the incident of the Yemenite children and the corruption of the 700,000 Sephardic refugees (Read Note 1 at the bottom).

Rabin became Prime Minister of Israel in more than one occasion. In his last and final run he participated with his buddy Shimon Peres in the resurrection of Yasser Arafat from the ruins of Tunisia and brought to Israel the great gift of Oslo.

Rabin and Peres’ Oslo peace plan became the green light for Arab murderers to destroy Jewish lives and do so ‘legally’. Rabin, freed thousands of Arab terrorists from Israeli jails, gave them weapons and baptized them ‘The Palestinian Police’. Shootings against Jews, men, women and children became a daily occurrence in Israel. To that add suicide-homicide-bombers, mortars, firebombs and stabbings. And Rabin was the pillar on which murder of Jews thrives today.

It hurts me to know that so many Jews have lost their lives needlessly. That some corrupt politicians imposed their own skewed views and made deals with Jew murderers to further their careers. That thousands upon thousands of Jewish settlers were left to receive bloody blows from terrorists because they did not live in parts of Israel that Rabin and Peres approved of. That was a 'hilul HaShem' (desecration of God's name).

1. Notice when you recite Tehilim, even Ashrei which we recite 3 times daily; The paragraph before the last says “Shomer HaShem et kol aohav, ve et kol ha reshaym yashmid” God protects all those who love Him and the wicked he destroys.

The wicked ‘reshaym’ refers to evil Jews. Jews and not gentiles, who have made it their way to walk against the God of Israel.

2. During the ‘Shmoneh Ezre’ (silent prayer), the paragraph that calls for the destruction of the wicked, the apostates and the evil. It too refers to evil Jews, not gentiles.

When we celebrate Hanukkah, and even though most Jews and non-Jews believe that it is a commemoration of the battle between the Maccabean Jews against the Greeks, it is not! The Maccabeans went out and took vengeance against the ‘hilonim’, the Jews that had betrayed their people to appease the Greeks.

When we learn about the holocaust, we find that hundreds of thousands of Jews were murdered thanks to the assistance of a few traitor Jews that were either self-hating Jews to start with, or simply betrayed their brethren to save their own skin.

Where is Ahavat Israel? Where is the love for our fellow Jews? Should we live in denial? No. but when we rebuke we must do so only if we are driven by Love of Israel. I don't use y"sh for Rabin, he is dead already and he has been judged by the Almighty. I do think Shimon Peres, Yossi Sarid an Yossi Beilin are deserving of this suffix, not because I think so but because halachikli they do. They don't posses Ahavat Israel and not only they desecrate God's name in public, they do so with no shame. They indirectly have caused countless of Jewish victims. Oh, how I wish they would repent, how I wish that the love that I feel for Israel, could be contagious even unto their hearts.

To increase the number of Jews in Israel they decided to ‘rescue’ the Jews of Yemen. Untouched by outside influences the Yemenite Jews were pure, religious, all wearing ‘kipot’ (skull-caps), ‘peyot’ (side-burns) and ‘talitot’ (prayer shawls). All knew how to daven (pray), all kept kosher, all lived with the fear of God and Ahavat Israel. Ben Gurion flew Israel’s air force to Yemen and lied to the people. He told them that they needed to bring the children in first and that they would come back for the parents right away. The children were brought to Israel. They were taken to Kibbutzim were their ‘peyot’ were cut-off, where non-kosher food was served to them, where no davening was allowed. Many were given into adoption never to be seen or heard from by their natural parents again.

They did return for the parents, much later on. They told them that their children had died; they had gotten sick and were buried. The lies and deceit and the horrendous pressures of the secularist governments of Israel, one after the other, made life impossible for the religious Sephardim who were expelled from Arab countries right after 1948.

The secularists, lead by Rabin, stripped the Jews of their love for Torah, love for their fellow Jews and connection to their land. Oh, my dear Jews, you must find your way back to Torah! Many are returning, and many others were never broken. Our goal should always be to reach and touch our brothers and sisters, whethter in the streets of Israel, of New York, California, Florida, anywhere the Galut (exile) of South America, Europe, or the Far East. We must bring them back to Torah and they will find their way back to Israel.
