height:145px;"/>Friends, comrades, Jews!

I would like to ask you to take a few moments from your Hannuka week to strike a blow against Leftist Fascism and against anti-democratic Thought Control in Israel. Your help is needed to defend academic freedom from the assault by the McCarthyist Left. I would like to ask you to take a few moments to demand the immediate dismissal of Israel’s worst politicized Inquisitor, Israel’s leftist thought policeman and enemy of democracy, Mr. Shai Nitzan, operating as the Deputy Prosecutor in the Ministry of Justice.

Nitzan, who has a track record of partisan political decision making as the Deputy director of Israel’s Prosecution Office, must be immediately dismissed because of his campaign of persecution and harassment against Dr. David Bukay, for the crime of incorrect thinking and speaking.

Let me explain. Dr. David Bukay is a lecturer in Middle East Studies at the University of Haifa with expertise in Arab history. He has conservative points of view and is very outspoken about them. About five years ago Bukay was the victim of a smear campaign of demonization at the University of Haifa. At the time, an Arab student who was active in the university branch of the communist party sat in on one of Bukay’s lectures without being registered in the class. The student then ran to the Arab press in Israel and claimed that in his lecture Bukay had repeatedly made racist derogatory comments about Arabs. After running the story there, it was also reported in the Hebrew press and web. From there, anti-Semitic web sites, including some run by Neo-Nazis, spread the story all over the internet.

None of the other students in the classroom had heard Bukay make any such remarks and many of these went public and claimed that the Arab communist student had fabricated the story. Hundreds of Bukay’s students backed Bukay in the case. Many wrote the Haifa University chiefs to give their side of the story. In any case, because of the uproar, the Rector at the University of Haifa, himself no Right-winger (he was a founder of Peace Now), appointed a committee of investigation to look into the charges against Bukay. They found that the charges were lies.

Then for about five years the story was nearly forgotten. Until last week.

What changed? Last week, the leftist Deputy Director of the Israel Prosecutor’s Office, Shai Nitzan, ordered Dr. Bukay to come into his office as part of an investigation into incorrect thinking and speaking by Dr. Bukay in his classroom. The story is reported in full in detail (in Hebrew only, alas) in the weekend issue of Maariv, and can be read here: http://www.nrg.co.il/online/1/ART1/977/492.html

and here: http://www.nrg.co.il/online/1/ART1/977/491.html

The Deputy Prosecutor played the role of a medieval Inquisitor. He was acting supposedly on the basis of a “criminal complaint” that was filed against Bukay with the Prosecution recently by the misnamed “Committee against Racism.” That committee is a front group for the pro-terror Israeli communist party, a party of anti-Semitic racists that has never quite gotten around to repudiating Stalin. The Stalinists claimed Bukay had made insensitive anti-Arab statements in class. Bukay denies that he did. That charge, coming from communists, was enough for Nitzan to summon Bukay for interrogation.

In a scene looking like something in the dungeons of the KGB in the days of Stalin, Bukay was ordered to the offices of Nitzan. He was told that he must sign a confession that he had made anti-Arab statements in the classroom. He was ordered by Nitzan to sign an apology for those statements, under threat of being prosecuted by Nitzan for “incitement” and “racism” if he does not do so. He was ordered to commit in writing and promise to make no such statements henceforth in his classroom. Nitzan evidently believes that leftwing lawyers should be able to dictate the content of university lectures.

Bukay refused to sign.

Maariv this weekend not only runs the story of the KGB-like interrogation of Bukay in the dungeons of the Ministry of Justice, but also runs a long commentary on the affair composed by Maariv Deputy Editor Ben-Dror Yemini. Interrogating and prosecuting lecturers for what they say in the classroom is without precedent in Israel or any democracy, notes Yemini. He then reminds readers that Israel is crawling with far-leftist anti-Israel and anti-Semitic members of Israel’s Academic Fifth Column, who routinely use the classroom to support terrorism against Jews, to call for Israel’s annihilation, to denounce Israel as a Nazi-like apartheid regime, and to urge law breaking. Not a single one of these has ever been interrogated, let along prosecuted. Yet here we have the spectacle of a naked political persecution of someone accused of having made politically incorrect statements in his classroom, a claim incidentally he denies, accused by a governmental enemy of freedom of speech.

Now as it turns out, even if Bukay HAD made the anti-Arab statements in the classroom that he was falsely accused of having made, they still should have been speech as protected as are outbursts that are made in scores of Israeli university classrooms every day by Israel’s tenured traitors. To take just a handful of examples from the same University of Haifa itself in which Bukay teaches, among the statements that did NOT ever trigger any investigation by the Prosecutor’s office have been these: The declaration by University of Haifa theater professor Avraham Oz that Israeli soldiers Nazis and “Little Eichmanns”; the distribution via the “ALEF” chat list run by the same Oz on the University of Haifa computer of the names, addresses and photos of Israeli army officers with the heading “war criminals,” as a thinly disguised call to murder them or harass them; a denunciation of Israel for committing “genocide” distributed by University of Haifa psychology professor Ramsey Suleiman; calls by numerous University of Haifa faculty members for a worldwide boycott of Israel; calls by many of those same people for students to refuse to serve in the army; and countless other anti-Israel pronouncements and statements by leftist University of Haifa faculty members. And the University of Haifa is a relatively tame place when compared to the legions of tenured treason to be found at Ben Gurion University and at Tel Aviv University.

The persecution of Bukay comes amidst growing evidence of prosecutorial partisanship in Israel. In the very days when the Prosecution is planning to indict Jewish “settlers” for illegal construction and to order the demolition of what those Jews have built, orders are being issued from the very same offices NOT to prosecute Arabs for illegal construction nor to demolish any illegal Arab buildings. The Israel state prosecutor himself, Menachem Mazuz, is leading the campaign to prosecute soldiers who refuse to obey orders when ordered to evict Jewish “settlers” from their homes. Yet the state prosecutor before him, Michael ben Yair, on February 12, 2002, issued a statement backing the campaign of “conscientious objectors” from the Left who organized massive insurrection and mutiny among soldiers. (His statement is reproduced in the “Israel Sheli” magazine this week.)

Israel has a long history of selective protection for freedom of speech. Numerous Israeli Jewish Right-wingers have been indicted and prosecuted for “racism,” for “sedition,” and for “incitement.” Fanatic Jewish leftists and Arab radicals never have been. The courts have repeatedly endorsed anti-speech prosecution and litigation directed against non-Leftists, while protecting and defending the most outrageous hate speech of far-leftist traitors. In one infamous court case, an Israeli sitting judge ruled that leftist sedition is protected speech while criticism of leftist sedition is libel.

Israel needs your help. Israel needs to get Shai Nitzan dismissed. Please write a short letter about the above outrage and demand Nitzan’s immediate dismissal. You should send it to the Minister of Justice, with copies to other Israeli leaders. A fax is more effective than an email.

Fax the Minister at the Ministry of Justice 972-2-6285438

Email (not for certain anyone reads it, so fax is better): sar@justice.gov.il

Copy to the Director General of the
In Israel the media reported that a Jewish terrorist had been apprehended. Two days later, a Muslim of Jordanian descent gunned down 12 US soldiers in Fort Hood, Texas. The media reported that Dr. Hassan had a momentary lapse of reason and that he should not be called a terrorist. Yakov Teitel however....

Another perspective on Yakov Teitel
by Yekutiel Ben Yaakov

After the arrest of American born Jewish “settler” Yaakov Teitel, the usual choir of right wing and nationalist leaders joined the leftist politicians and media commentators as they too began to raise their voices in a contest to see who could condemn Teitel in harsher language. Heaven forbid, the right wing camp should be insinuated in the action of a sole, random member of its political constituency. And the singing continues.

The following excerpt is from a recent article published on the Arutz Sheva website addressing the national ‘debate’ which continues in the headlines days after the news came public on Teitel:

“The arrest of Yaakov Teitel and his apparent confession to a series of ideological murders and attacks has aroused a lively public debate in Israel on the topic of apportioning blame. While most spokesmen in radio interviews, newspaper columns, and the like appear to agree in principle that entire population sectors should not be held responsible for the actions of lone individuals among their number, in practice the nationalist camp finds itself under attack.”

Once again the entire right-wing nationalist establishment cowers in fear and falls into the trap laid by the Israeli left. Does the right need to justify its right to live in Israel and does it need to go on the defensive because Teitel was arrested? What did the man do, after all? He confessed to attacking Arabs in retaliation for attacks against Jews. The fact that the Israeli media has turned Teitel into the most heinous terrorist since Brauch Goldstein and Yigal Amir does not mean we have to join the circus.

Let’s review how the left deals with their “terrorists”. Yitzhak Rabin openly confessed to partaking in the ideological murder of 16 Jews in commanding the attack of Menachem Begin’s Altalena – an overt attempt (and politically motivated, at that) to murder Begin and prevent the ship from reaching the Tel Aviv shoreline in 1948. He and his political bosses (Ben Gurion, et al.) undertook the action so that Begin’s Irgun wouldn’t pose a political threat to the Ben Gurion’s socialist Mapai party after the war.

The left also boasted unapologetically of its hunting “season” against young Irgun members. Former Prime Minister, now vegetable, Ariel Sharon also participated in attacks against right wing youth in his Haganah days.

The left also openly threatened to murder Rabbi Kahane should he ever achieve a position of power in Israel, and, indeed, physically assaulted him when he spoke in such leftist strongholds as Givatayim, where they bused in hundreds of kibbutznikim to do their dirty work. It was on Nov. 5, 1990 almost 19 years to the day when Rabbi Meir Kahane was assassinated. While it was the bullet of an Arab assassin that murdered the Rabbi, everyone knows the role Israeli leaders played in abandoning and cheapening his blood. A role that the Israeli left wears as a badge of honor to this day.

Yet we never saw the left pleading with the public not to judge them for the violent and homicidal crimes of the ideological extremists in their midst – including those who would later become prime ministers of Israel, or mayors of cities like Jerusalem, in the case of Teddy Kolleck, the man who led one of the Haganah’s most important departments in ‘the Season’, who ordered his charges to “beat and hand over Irgun operatives to the British police.”

Let’s put Teitel into perspective. He’s a lone Jew who, if he is guilty of the crimes he’s accused of, took arms to fight back against Arab terror – a terror, we hasten to add, that was aided and abetted by the Israeli left and successive Israeli governments, who actually gave thousands of assault rifle to PLO police who in many recorded incidents turned those weapons on Jewish men women and children in terrorist attacks. Teitel’s brother-in-law was a victim of one such recent terror attack. Occasionally, a Jew, fed up with the restraint policy of those governments and of the right wing establishment will stand up and fight back in the spirit of national heroes such as Shlomo Ben Yosef and David Raziel, who also carried out random attacks against the Arab population of pre-state Israel in retaliation for the ongoing terrorist attacks against Jews. Today, there are streets, kibbutzim and highways named after the Jewish heroes of those pre-state undergrounds. For Teitel there is a jail cell today, and on the outside, a choir of left and right wing moral crusaders who have nothing but words of condemnation, hatred and fear.

Me, I have no words of condemnation for Teitel. I condemn only the leaders of Israel, right wing, nationalist leaders included, who have brought about the murder of Jews and who ultimately bear full responsibility for Jews like Teitel taking the law into their own hands to defend themselves, their families and their communities. If the government and the right wing establishment would simply do what they are obligated to do, there would be no Teitels in jail.

If I were a Yesha official, my press release would sound a lot different from what’s been passing through the media these last few days. It would go something like this:

Teitel is innocent until proven otherwise. However, should he be found guilty of the acts alleged against him, he is still not the true or primary culprit. The government of Israel is the party to blame for arming Arab terrorists and permitting them to remain in Israel to murder innocent Jews. Until that same government is prepared to do its job, to safeguard unconditionally the Jewish citizens of this country, there may be many more Teitels rising up to take the law into their own hands. I am not condoning Jews taking the law into their own hands, however, in view of the one-sided anarchy that already exists, it is hard to join the choir that finds only words of condemnation for Teitel.

Short and simple.

Honigman
Ex-President Jimmy Carter has recently asked Jews for forgiveness.
Among his other sources of conflict with members of the Tribe are his persistently, one-sided takes on Arab-Israeli issues culminating in his book equating Israel with the former apartheid regime of South Africa.
Carter claims that the fact that his grandson is now running for office in their home state of Georgia has nothing to do with his apology. He states that Jews only make up 2% of the county where his grandson lives–about the same percent that Jews make up in the nation at large–and so uses this as further evidence of the integrity of his intentions.
Hogwash!
Now, before I go any further, let me say that I voted for Carter in the ’70s.
I liked his approach to environmental concerns. I believed that, given the way man has trashed this planet, any further mistakes–if they had to be made–needed to be on the side of caution and sane conservation.
For a number of reasons–especially after the Iran fiasco–I soon came to regret my decision.
I’ll never forget watching the Democrat National Convention on television a while back, and watching Carter chasing after that other hero of the Arabs, general anti-Semites, and the ultra left.
Yes, there was Mr. “Apartheid Israel” kissing the derriere of his Hollywood producer comrade, Michael “Israel is one of the three top evils in the world” Moore.
Birds of a feather, peas of the same pod, and so forth.
Like other Gentile politicos, the Democrat, Carter, has received millions of dollars from Arabs for his help in demonizing Israel and Jews. Ex-Secretary of State James f_ _ _ the Jews, they don’t vote for us anyway Baker III, a Republican, is his worthy counterpart. Both have plenty of company.
Well, I have a way Jimmy can put this all to rest…sort of.
Since he is a man of the world whose books do indeed reach millions and influence world opinion, I have a new assignment for him–one which he should not have had me have to assign to him.
After all, for decades now, if Israel took one too many breaths, he was there to investigate, criticize, and dissect it under the high power lens of moral scrutiny. Most often, his critiques were given little or no context whatsoever. Jewish victims were constantly blamed themselves when issues such as blown buses, checkpoints, the security barrier, and such were discussed. Constantly, Arabs were given a virtual free pass in Carter’s assessments.
While constantly indulging in such hypocrisy, Carter acted deaf, dumb, and blind regarding what was happening in the region surrounding the nation of the Jews–his perpetually favorite target.
So, since he couldn’t figure out that he needed to do this himself, here’s his assignment. If he completes it, his words of apology to Jews might gain some credibility.
Jimmy, your first task is to travel to re-visit your friend, Bashar al-Assad, the butcher of Damascus and author of the “Hama Solution’s” son, in Syria.
I’m sure that the last time you guys met, the word “Kurd” never left your lips…while you were discussing mutual disgust regarding the nation of the Jews.
So, since you worry so much about Arab rights and conditions–which are harmed precisely because they want that tiny, sole nation of the Jews dead–you must now, at long last, demand that “Arab” Syria stop murdering and subjugating its millions of Kurds. The latter are not even allowed to speak their own language, have been forcibly Arabized for decades–yet I don’t recall a peep about their plight ever being uttered from your lips. Only America’s toppling of Saddam changed things for the better for “Arab” Iraq’s millions of Kurds. Again, not a peep out of you about them, nor concern over their brethren in the Turkish and Iranian portions of Kurdistan either…some thirty five million perpetually used and abused stateless people. Why hasn’t their plight caught your attention?
The second part of your assignment will take you to “Arab” North Africa.
Since you are allegedly so concerned about human rights, you will finally have to break your troubling silence about the plight of another truly stateless people (Arabs have almost two dozen states; “Palestinians”–no matter how you define them–are Arabs), the thirty million or so Imazhigen/Berbers, who predate their Arab conquerors by millennia and who, like the Kurds, have had their own language and culture outlawed by Arabs and who have been murdered if they have resisted. All of these things are happening in the here and now. Amazigh parents being told they must name their children with Arab names and other such goodies.
Why the silence?
If this was Israel doing one tenth of this , you’d be writing another book about those nasty Jews.
Okay, moving on.
Your next assignment has you moving just a bit south and east into the Sudan.
While Darfur in the west has been making the news of late, the forced Arabization of the south by the north has been going on for centuries and exploded once again in the ’60s.
Where has Carter been while this Arab enslavement, genocide, and such against black Africans (and not only in the Sudan) has been going on? And, unlike the most of the south, the blacks in Darfur are also Muslims…so, this goes beyond a religious jihad and truly involves Arab racism, pure and simple. Many quotes from black victims have testified to this.
And where has he been when millions of native Copts in “Arab” Egypt suffered this same subjugation, intimidation, Arabization, murder, and such? Or regarding the plight of the Middle East’s native Jews– those whom Arabs call “their” kilab yahud…Jew Dogs. One half of Israel consists of such Jews from “Arab” lands…the other half of the refugee problem Carter doesn’t seem to know or care about.
Alright…it’s time to bring this to an end.
So, here’s the deal, Mr. Carter…
Write your book and give your speeches and write your articles taking Arabs to task for the crimes they have committed against everyone else in the region besides themselves–real crimes, not measures Israel has been forced to take to merely survive Arab slaughter–and those Jews who care (many don’t, so they will support you right now) will take you seriously.

http://q4j-middle-east.com
Apology Not Accepted…
by Gerald A.

Negotiating with Bibi

The defenders of Bibi Netanyahu point out that whether we like it or not, Judea, Samaria, the Golan Heights and Eastern Jerusalem were never officially annexed, and therefore are always open for negotiation. Like pawns in a complex chess game, they can be used to achieve that evasive truce with the Arab world.

The same can be said about Israel’s nuclear arsenal and Israel’s powerful air force. These are pawns that allow Israel to engage in negotiations with both the Arab world and the world at large.

There is a fundamental problem with all of this. Tools for negotiation are assets of course, but most importantly, is to actually have the ability to negotiate. Given Netanyahu’s rhetoric one would assume he is a very good negotiator, however his track record reveals the complete opposite. When Netanyahu became Prime Minister in 1996 he signed a peace agreement with King Hussein, father of current King Abdullah of Jordan. In this agreement, Netanyahu secured a peace treaty with Jordan in exchange for territorial concessions in the Negev and a promise for a set amount of water supply from the Kineret regardless of rainfall or capacity. In short, we gave Jordan what they wanted and in turn we got a shaky and scrawny promise of peace. Today in Jordan, many are the Israelis that conduct business but the hatred of Israel is felt at every level of Jordanian society.

This week it was revealed that Bibi is working with Ehud Barak to secure the release of Giald Shalit in exchange for 980 terrorists being held in Israeli prisons.

Additionally, Netanyahu’s promise to President Barak Hussein Obama to halt construction in Judea and Samaria was in exchange of… well, absolutely nothing, except maybe a warm ‘atta-boy’ from Obama and his advisors.

So yes, Judea, Samaria, the Golan Heights, Eastern Jerusalem, our nuclear facilities and our military capabilities can all be perceived and treated as tools for negotiation. The problem as you can see, is that Netanyahu is a lousy negotiator. He is a great orator, and that makes him eerily similar to Obama. They talk the talk but neither knows anything about how to deal with the Islamic world.

Remember that they are negotiating our patrimony. If we stand by without opposition, we’ll end up with another piece of paper, an empty promise and a much more vulnerable stance. Obama might like to bow a lot, but I think we should device an entirely different strategy. We should begin by electing a better negotiator, one that can accurately represent a strong Jewish position.

Ze’ev Shemer
Ramat HaGolan, ISRAEL
I must say, there is great potential to turn the curse into a blessing if we act correctly.

Let me first say kol hakavod to those mayors who organized and participated in the protest in Efrat against the freezing decrees. Efrat mayor Oded Revivi and other mayors poured cement and started the foundations of a synagogue. An important message was passed on to all: We, the mayors, declare we proudly and publicly defy the anti-Jewish building freeze decrees.

Now, in order for this not to be a one-time statement, this must continue. And we must be careful not to fall in the trap they are planning.

Let me explain:

The healthy reaction by almost all communities seems to have scared of Netanyahu a bit. What bothers the authorities the most is the unity in our camp. Moderates and less moderates, all united, came out strongly against the decrees.

In dovish and secular communities like in the Jordan valley or bet Arieh, the mayors physically blocked the entrance to the Civil Administration informers. Some were even arrested. More moderate communities, such as Efrat and Gush Etzion, were as strong in their terminology as more hawkish Yitzhar and Har Bracha. Dovish Ariel mayor compared the decrees to the "saison".

When there is unity and determination in our camp around the issue of Erets Israel, the government cannot implement their decrees. So what do the authorities do? They implement the policy of "divide and conquer" which helps them neutralize some leaders and keep them quiet.

For instance, in the past they said that unlike Yitzhar and Kiryat Arba, the communities of Gush Etzion and Ariel are "in the consensus". As long as some leaders actually believed this sad joke, they wouldn't come out to fight for other areas because 'we are in the consensus" so we shouldn't rock the boat", "we should be well-behaved".

Netanyahu and Barak managed to burst the bubble of the "you are in the consensus" joke. The decrees made it clear. Alon Shvut, Ariel, Maaleh Adumim and Neve Daniel are exactly like Yitzhar, Bet El and Har Bracha.
All are part of the freeze, meaning all are meant to later be expelled (G-d forbid).

So how is Netanyahu going try and fix this? News reports say that he will allow mere 84 projects to be built, anyway, around Yesha. How smart! Shimon Peres, the general of 'divide and conquer" policies must have advised him.

If our mayors in Judea and Samaria will fall into that trap, they each will now bicker who will get some bread crumbs from these 84 permits and mayors who will receive these permits will then immediately be good boys again. A mayor who will receive, for instance, 12 permits will not struggle anymore for the larger cause and for other places to be allowed to build. He will keep his head low just to be able to build these 12 "divide-and conquer" bread crumbs. That is how, G-d forbid, they will manage to end the amazing uprising we have seen in the last few days.

So we hope and pray that the mayors will not fall for this. That they will stay united and declare: Don't try to buy us with 84 bread crumbs. We are not fools. Unless you completely thaw the freeze everywhere, in Gush Etzion and in the Shomron and e-v-e-r-y-w-h-e-r-e, we will continue to defy your decrees. We will turn a blind eye to all our residents who hopefully continue to build. We will build, build, build, anyway.

Let's see what happens in the next few days. Let's remember that the authorities managed to destroy Gush Katif because they had managed to neutralize and convince some Yesha leaders and Rabbis to collaborate with them (probably by promising them all kinds of "divide and conquer" bread crumb promises) and thus making sure there would not be a real struggle in our camp but rather only symbolic demonstrations.

Now is the time for the Yesha leaders to do a tikkun (correction) of the mistakes made in Gush Katif.
The last few days of uprising show we are on the right path. But now Netanyahu-Barak will try to break this healthy defiance with handing out candies and bread crumbs.

We, who still are traumatized by the betrayal of some Rabbis and Yesha leaders during the Gush Katif and Northern Shomron expulsion, will this time keep close watch of their moves. Let's pray our mayors and Rabbis do not fall in the trap Bibi and Barak are planning. Let's pray they can raise to the challenge.
If they do, and manage to stay loyal to the Land of Israel, we will thank Bibi for finally awakening the national camp and pushing it to finally struggle for the Land of Israel in an uncompromising way.

Shabbat shalom,

Nadia Matar

DAVID GAUBATZ and PAUL SPERRY

REVIEWED BY: FERN SIDMAN

The Muslim Brotherhood, an Egyptian based Islamic terrorist organization appears to be alive and well and cloaking itself in legitimacy in our nation's capitol under the guise of a front group say intrepid undercover agents P. David Gaubatz and Paul Sperry in their new book, "Muslim Mafia: Inside the Secret Underworld That's Conspiring to Islamize America" (World Net Daily Books 2009). Investigative journalism reaches new levels in doughtiness and concludes with a shocking crescendo in this tome, as Gaubatz, his son Chris and Paul Sperry infiltrate the shady Washington, DC based organization known as the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR); the nation's largest and purportedly mainstream Muslim-American "civil rights" advocacy agency. The frightening facts published in this book are supported by more than 12,000 pages of confidential CAIR documents and hundreds of hours of video captured in this unprecedented undercover operation.

Through painstaking and nuanced research of internal memos and documents the authors establish the fact that CAIR is the ideological cousin of the notorious Muslim Brotherhood and their leadership is inextricably tied to the promulgation of an explosively violent "jihadist" agenda. Utilizing double speak and a wide variety of cleverly devised subterfuges, CAIR manages to ostensibly present itself as a law abiding, pro-American organization, however the authors expose their unbridled mendacity in its most egregious form.

Mr. Gaubatz served for twelve years as a former agent with the US Air Force Office of Special Investigations and is a career military counterterrorism specialist as well as a US State Department trained Arabic linguist. Joining him on this six month long covert foray into the nefarious machinations of CAIR and it's overt ties to Muslim terrorists of all stripes are his son Chris who worked undercover as a convert to Islam and Paul Sperry, a veteran investigative journalist and author of "Infiltration: How Muslim Spies and Subversives Have Penetrated Washington".

This book could effortlessly take it's rightful place among classic hair raising espionage thrillers if it's tragic geo-political realities weren't so terrifying. The authors scrupulously document CAIR's foreign fundraising sources including exceedingly large donations from the Wahabi dominated Saudi Arabian government that gave birth to the 9/11 hijackers. Not to be outdone, CAIR also assumes the role of benefactor, as the recipients of their financial largesse include such heinous terror organizations as Hamas.

Moreover, the authors offer shocking revelations about CAIR's infiltration of key US law enforcement agencies including local police departments, the FBI, the CIA and the State Department as well as their heavy handed influence operations against members of homeland security committees on Capitol Hill and their insertion of Islamic spies in congressional offices. According to the authors, FBI wiretaps reveal that, "During a secret Muslim Brotherhood meeting he organized last decade, CAIR founder and former chair Omar Ahmad expressed the need to strengthen "the influence with Congress." He argued for using Muslims as an "entry point" to "pressure Congress and the decision makers in America" to change US foreign policy in the Middle East and other policies."

CAIR's far reaching tentacles have even permeated corporate America, say the authors, as they and their sister organization, the Islamic Society of North America blackmail Wall Street firms who do not comply with Islamic financing principles. The authors also spotlight CAIR's use of intimidation tactics in silencing their political opponents as evidenced in their efforts to unleash a vitriolic campaign to blacklist such media personalities as Bill O'Reilly, Dr. Laura Schlesinger, Glenn Beck and Michael Savage while pressuring the National Review to acquiesce to their demands.

While elected officials from both sides of the aisle, including former president George W. Bush, have legitimized the dubious organization with governmental recognition and ceremonial gravitas, CAIR's underlying credo remains seditious and rabidly anti-American until this very day. The authors remind us that in the aftermath of the 9/11 attacks, President Bush appeared alongside officials from CAIR and other outwardly benign Muslim groups that weren't properly vetted at the Islamic Center of Washington in a display of "unity". The unsuspecting former president announced, "It is my honor to be meeting with leaders who feel just the same way as I do. They're outraged, they're sad. They love America just as much as I do." These words would come back to haunt the president as facts concerning CAIR's zealous legal representation of Muslim Americans charged with terrorist activities came to the fore and as history would record, certain members of CAIR's own leadership would turn out to be unindicted co-conspirators in helping to finance terrorist organizations.

As the burgeoning and pernicious scourge of global radical Islam continues to proliferate in an unfettered manner, it is clear that within our borders the threat to our cherished democratic values and principles are all too real. The release of this book of paramount importance by authors Gaubatz and Sperry hasn't come a moment too soon. To say that the information published in these pages is a real eye opener is an understatement of monumental proportions. It is a must read for anyone, the world over, who still clings to the hope of freedom, peace and liberty that Western civilization represents.

To read the book please follow this link: MUSLIM MAFIA

Some of the non-Muslims who knew him have said, probably correctly – and unfortunately – that they did not know enough about Islam, especially in its radical forms, to assess Hasan’s views. But the weak outcome of a 2003 Senatorial appeal for an inquiry into Islamist financing in America – along with other curious lapses of attention – show that the military is not alone in cringing at the task of investigating Muslim radicals.

At the end of 2003, the U.S. Senate Finance Committee sent a letter to the Internal Revenue Service, signed by the committee’s then-chairman, Senator Chuck Grassley, Republican of Iowa, and its then-ranking Democrat, Senator Max Baucus of Montana . (Baucus is now the committee’s chairman.) The Senate Committee called on the IRS to collect financial information on 24 Islamist groups operating in the U.S. :

Al-Haramain Foundation
Alavi Foundation
Benevolence International Foundation
Global Relief Foundation
Help the Needy
Holy Land Foundation for Relief and Development
Human Appeal International
Institute of Islamic and Arabic Sciences in America
International Islamic Relief Organization or Internal Relief Organization
Islamic African Relief Society and/or Islamic American Relief Agency
Islamic Assembly of North America
Islamic Association for Palestine
Islamic Circle of North America
Islamic Foundation of America
Islamic Society of North America
Kind Hearts
Muslim Arab Youth Association
Muslim Student Association
Muslim World League
Rabita Trust
SAAR Foundation and all members and related entities
Solidarity International and/or Solidarity USA
United Association for Studies and Research
World Assembly of Muslim Youth

Most of these organizations are obscure for ordinary, non-Muslim Americans even today. But with the exception of the Iran-directed Alavi Foundation, which was the object of an assets seizure proceeding this month, and leaving aside the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), the Muslim American Society (MAS), and a few other absent players, the list provides a map of the “Wahhabi lobby” of radical Muslim proponents in American. These organizations are financed by, and in some cases act as direct agencies of, powerful institutions in Saudi Arabia and Pakistan , in tandem with their allies in the Muslim Brotherhood.

Late in 2005, however, Senator Grassley first announced that investigation of the 24 groups had ended inconclusively, with no evidence of anything “alarming” beyond the capacity for ordinary response by law enforcement; he then reversed his posture and said that his committee would continue collecting information on them. But the Senate Finance Committee produced nothing new after that.

Of the 24 entities whose names were sent to the IRS in 2003, some were identified as terror financiers years before. (Readers, please forgive this trip down the rabbit hole – it is merely a basic accounting.) The Al-Haramain Foundation, Benevolence International, Human Appeal International, the International Islamic Relief Organization (IIRO) and the Islamic African Relief Agency were named in a 1996 Central Intelligence Agency report as extremist “charities” operating in Bosnia-Hercegovina. Of them, all were Saudi-based except the Islamic African Relief Agency, which originated in the Shariah-law country of Sudan .

After the atrocities of September 11, 2001, the same groups came under new scrutiny by the U.S. The Rabita Trust, which operated in Pakistan as an auxiliary to Al-Qaida, was designated by the U.S. Treasury as a terror financier in October 2001. U.S. legal action shut down the Holy Land Foundation (HLF), which served as a front for Hamas in December 2001, and early this year two of its founders were sentenced to life prison terms for transmitting $12 million to the Palestinian terrorist movement. The Islamic Association for Palestine , the United Association for Studies and Research, the Muslim Arab Youth Association, and Solidarity International/USA were predecessors or satellites of HLF. Kind Hearts, a front for HLF to continue its questionable activities, remains an object of federal investigation. The pro-Hamas groups all ultimately owed ideological loyalty to the Muslim Brotherhood.

Federal agents raided the offices of the IIRO, the Muslim World League (MWL), and the SAAR Foundation, in northern Virginia in 2002, seeking evidence of links to Al-Qaida. The World Assembly of Muslim Youth, which is subordinate to the MWL, also maintained a branch in Northern Virginia , directed by Abdulah Bin Laden, brother of Osama, and dedicated to disseminating Wahhabi propaganda. Global Relief was designated a supporter of Al-Qaida by the U.S. Treasury in 2002, with Al-Haramain similarly designated through its branches around the world, from Afghanistan across Africa to America , in 2004.

Also in 2004, the Institute of Islamic and Arabic Science in America (IIASA), long known as a central institution for Wahhabi indoctrination in America , was shut down by federal agents. It had been charged in the abuse of Saudi diplomatic status by radical religious workers, 16 of whom were ordered back to the kingdom.

Of the other small groups on the Grassley-Baucus list, Help the Needy was exposed as a front for the Iraqi regime of Saddam Hussein; the Islamic Assembly of North America was a subsidiary distributor of Saudi Wahhabi propaganda, and the Islamic Foundation of America was linked to IIASA.

So why complain? Couldn’t we simply congratulate the federal authorities, in filing its recent complaint against the Iranian-controlled Alavi Foundation and its mosques, for efficiently tracking down radical Muslim funders and supporters in America ?

Unfortunately, the answer is no, and the real job has only begun, for there remains a Wahhabi elephant – or, shall we say, camel – in the room.

All of the Islamist groups that have been investigated, designated, or tried for terror financing originate offshore, and all represent foreign interests – Saudi, Palestinian, Sudanese, Pakistani, Iranian – that intrude into American Muslim life to raise money for radicals.

That is bad enough. But the Grassley-Baucus list also included the three most powerful Muslim leadership groups in the U.S. , which dominate the lives of believers in mosques around the country: the Islamic Society of North America (ISNA), the Muslim Students Association (MSA), and the Islamic Circle of North America (ICNA). And about them, nothing has been done.

Why has no investigation or legal action examined the involvement of ISNA in promoting Wahhabism, the official Saudi ideology that was taught in the Virginia and Maryland mosques in which Nidal Malik Hasan prayed?

Today, ISNA is privileged by the Obama administration; its president, Ingrid Mattson, appeared at the Obama inauguration, and was invited to the White House iftar, or Ramadan fast-breaking meal. She was accompanied to the iftar by Imam Yahya Hendy, the Islamic chaplain at Georgetown University . Hendy, it turns out, knew Nidal Hasan when the latter served at the National Naval Medical Center in Bethesda , Md. , where Hendy also officiates as a chaplain. Hendy was quick to describe Hasan to CNN as someone who “appeared to be a very loyal American.” But Hendy has a radical past of his own, including associations with the terror-funding Benevolence International Foundation and an appearance as a witness on behalf of Sami Al-Arian, leader of Palestinian Islamic Jihad in the U.S., during Al-Arian’s trial in 2003.

ICNA is a front for the jihadist Jamaat-e-Islami in Pakistan , which supports Talibanization of that country, and exercises a powerful hold over American Muslims of Pakistani origin, who form the plurality of born Muslims in this country. MSA, for its part, now has branches on nearly every college campus in the U.S. , and is widely known among Muslims as an incubator of extremism.

None of this is new, and none of it has been dealt with appropriately.

Eight years after 9/11, American Muslims – and therefore America as a nation – still have a Wahhabi problem. The Saudi-backed sect continues to dominate ISNA, which is recognized by government and media as an intermediary with American Sunni Muslims, as well as MSA. ICNA’s conspiratorial network extends into prisons, requiring complete obedience from its members and active recruitment of new followers. And the neglect into which the Senate Finance Committee’s 2003 initiative fell has been repeated, about a full range of questions that were asked eight years ago and deserve to be asked again and again, until they are fully answered:

When will ISNA, MSA, and ICNA’s ties to radical Islam be officially investigated?

When will radicals like Yahya Hendy in the military’s Muslim chaplaincies be fully investigated?

When will the problem of Wahhabi chaplains in U.S. prisons be resolved, and their presence removed?

When will the Saudi-Wahhabi and Pakistani streams of radical agitation and money be cut off among American Muslims?

When, if ever, will American leaders recognize that the problem of radical Islam exists here at home as much as in faraway lands?

Some American Muslims recognize that Islam on these shores is more conformist, and therefore more susceptible to extremism, than Islam in such oppressed countries as Saudi Arabia and Iran . At least in those places, Muslims argue and even protest against the abuses of Islamist ideology.

We should be glad that the authorities have moved to shut down the financial dealings of the Iranian clerical dictatorship in the U.S. , as represented by the Alavi Foundation. And we should be relieved that groups like HLF and the other terror supporters have been curbed. But until the real nature of ISNA, MSA, and ICNA is exposed, with their leaders fully investigated, and, where appropriate, charged and tried, Americans will remain disarmed in the face of the radical Islam – on our own soil.

Nidal Hassan Explains it All to You

By Barry Rubin
November 14, 2009

How do we know that the attack at Fort Hood was an act of Islamist terrorism? Simple, Major Nidal Hassan told us so. You've seen reports of a long list of things he did and said along these lines. But what's most amazing of all is this:

Hassan is the first terrorist in history to give an cademic lecture explaining why he was about to attack. Yet that still isn't enough for too many people-including the president of the United States--to understand that the murderous assault at Fort Hood was a Jihad attack.

It was reported that the audience was shocked and frightened by his lecture. He was supposed to speak on some medical topic yet instead talked on the topic: "The Koranic World View as it Relates to Muslims in the U.S. Military." All you have to do is look at the 50 Power Point slides and they tell you everything you need to know.

It is quite a good talk. He's logical and presents his evidence. This is clearly not the work of a mad man or a fool, though there's still a note of ambiguity in it. He's still working out what to do in his own mind and is trying to figure out if he has a way out other than in effect deserting the U.S. army and becoming a Jihad warrior. Ultimately, he concluded that he could not be a proper Muslim without killing American soldiers. Obviously, other Muslims could reach different conclusions but Hassan strongly grounds himself in Islamic texts.

In a sense, Hassan's lecture was a cry for help: Can anyone show me another way out? Can anyone refute my interpretation of Islam? One Muslim in the audience reportedly tried to do so. But unless these issues are openly discussed and debated--rather than swept under the rug--more people will die.

In fact, I'd recommend that teachers use this lecture in teaching classes on both Islam and Islamist politics. .

Follow along with me and you'll understand everything.

Hassan deals with three topics: What Islam teaches Muslims, how Muslims view the wars in Afghanistan and Iran, how this might affect Muslims in the U.S. military. [Slide 2] Hassan defines Jihad, showing how silly are the claims that it only means a personal struggle to behave better. It also signifies holy war, of course. [Slide 5].

Now here's Hassan's central theme. Muslims cannot fight in an infidel army against other Muslims. And Hassan himself says that it's getting hard for Muslims in the U.S. military to justify doing so. [Slide 11] Obviously, Hassan was deciding that he couldn't do so.

He then quotes the Koran extensively to prove the point. Allah will punish anyone who kills a Muslim [Slide 12]. Hassan then gives four examples of Muslim soldiers who broke under the strain. One who killed fellow American soldiers (which Hassan would himself do), one accused of espionage (but was acquitted), one who deserted, and one who refused deployment to Iraq. [Slide 13]

Quoting the Koran, Hassan next provides a number of quotations to show that the believer must obey Allah. If they do, they will enjoy great delights (though he left out the 72 virgins, there's one quote hinting at pederasty), and if they don't they will suffer torments of Hell.

Finally, he gets into the heavy stuff. Hassan introduces the concept of "defensive Jihad" which is a core element in radical Islamist thinking and has especially been promoted by Usama bin Ladin and al-Qaida. [Slides 37-39]. If others attack and oppress Muslims, then it is the duty of all Muslims to fight them. September 11 was justified by its perpetrators by saying that the United States had attacked Muslims and therefore it was mandatory to kill Americans in return.

And here is the crux of the matter: Verse 60:08, "Allah forbids you.from dealing kindly and justly" with those who fight Muslims." [Slide 40]

If Nidal Hassan believed this and would follow it, he must-to be a proper Muslim in his eyes-pick up a gun and join the Jihad, Muslim side. He was not shooting Americans because he caught battle fatigue from American soldiers he treated. Think about it. To have done so, Hassan would have had to sympathize with them, thinking about what it would be like for him if he'd been fighting.Muslims in Iraq or Afghanistan. But that was precisely his problem. He sympathized with the other side.

Being ordered to ship out to one of these countries, Hassan now had to decide: which side are you on? Would he choose the side of Allah and the Muslims, to be rewarded in Heaven? Or would he join with the infidels, to be punished with Hell and to betray his religion? He made his decision.

It is interesting that no Muslim debate has developed over a very simple issue: What if two groups of Muslims are fighting, cannot one side with one group, even if it has non-Muslim allies? After all, Americans are not going to Iraq or Afghanistan simply to "kill Muslims" but to defend Muslims from being killed. The Saudis, Kuwaitis, and Egyptians had no problem with using Western troops to save them from Saddam Hussein's Iraq in 1991, for example. The Iraqi and Afghan governments, made up of pious Muslims, do the same thing.

Arab nationalists who are Muslims can take this position more easily. But for Islamists the problem is not some abstraction but knowledge that they are fighting a battle to seize control of all Muslim-majority states and indeed perhaps of the entire world.

The true problem, then, is not that some Muslims help infidels kill Muslims, but that some Muslims help infidels kill Islamists. But Hassan never considered this point, which could be quite persuasive to other Muslims in Western militaries.

So, in his thinking, how might Hassan have escaped from that stark choice? Hassan answers that question. Quoting the Koran, he indicated that if the Americans ended the wars, then that would be okay and no killing would be necessary. [Slide 42]

Another alternative is if the Americans accepted Islam or agreed to become subservient to Muslim rulers (dhimmis) and paid a special tax [Slide 43-44].

The third alternative would be if the Muslim Messiah came, destroyed Christianity as a false religion and set off the post-history utopia. [Slide 45]. He didn't mention another part of this description, which was the murder of all Jews.

A digression is appropriate here. Hassan, although a Palestinian, has never been quoted as attacking Israel or the Jews. This is one more reminder that this struggle isn't all just about Israel. But it also tells something important about Hassan which also applies to many Muslim radicals in Europe. Hassan is an American. As such he has no other nationality, neither Palestinian nor Arab. He doesn't support Hamas or Fatah. But he has a religion that directs his thinking. That's why he is an Islamist and why he supports a generalized Islamist revolutionary movement, al-Qaida.

As one moderate Muslim from Canada pointed out, the clothes he wore the day before committing his Jihad attack was not (as some sources put it in a silly manner) some martyr or even Arab garb but the clothing of Pakistan and Afghanistan. He is an al-Qaida Jihadi, having changed sides in the War on Terror.

Hassan was no fool or blind fanatic. Indeed, he presents a sophisticated view. For example, he quotes contradictory Quranic verses, one suggesting that all religions can enter Heaven; another that all non-Muslims will go to Hell [Slide 47].

His conclusion takes on tremendous significance in light of what would happen at Fort Hood. He writes:

"If Muslim groups can convince Muslims that they are fighting for God against injustices of the `infidels'; i.e., the enemies of Islam, then Muslims can become a potent adversary ie: suicide bombing, etc."

And of course, these groups did so convince Hassan. [Slide 48]

Why? Hassan tells us:

"God expects full loyalty. Promises heaven and threatens with Hell. Muslims may seem moderate (compromising) but God is not." [Slide 49]

And at the very end, he proposes what might have been his own escape route:

"Recommendation: Department of Defense should allow Muslim soldiers the option of being released as `Conscientious objectors' to increase troop morale and decrease adverse events." [Slide 50]

If that had existed for Hassan, I think, he would not have killed people. This proposal is worth debating, though it has negative implications too, of course. But then he had other options. He could have resigned his commission, deserted, or refused deployment as a conscientious objector and gone to prison. In fact, Hassan himself cited individuals who had done the last two.

Consequently, Hassan's lecture also tells us why Muslims can choose not to be Jihadists, though this requires ignoring or rationalizing clear, religiously binding commandments in their religion or by being basically secular people of Muslim background. This is the kind of solution found in Christianity and Judaism, of course.

Hassan was too pious and consistent to take this way out. The answer to his personal behavior must be found in a mix of psychological factors and political-religious beliefs. The fact is, however, that he clearly did see himself as a Jihad warrior in the end. The existence of psycological factors in no way negates the importance of religious considerations.

All terrorists have some psychological forces working to make them follow such a path. Yet if not for ideological--and in the case of Islamists, religious--beliefs they never would have become terrorists. In contrast, criminals have psychological factors plus material goals, while mentally ill people who commit crimes are compelled by purely psychogical factors. Hassan does not fit either of those two categories.

Equally, his action cannot be attributed to a "misreading" or "heretical" interpretation of Islam. To read this lecture is to understand how carefully and self-critically he approached the issues. Anything so obviously false or deviant from mainstream Islam would simply not appeal to so many Muslims. Hassan was looking for a way out in the texts and listed the "loopholes" he did find: either the United States must not fight anyone who was a Muslim or it must let him out of the military.

What Hassan neglected was an explanation that lay outside what his strict reading of the Muslim texts would allow him to say: the United States must fight, in general, because the Islamists have been the aggressors. And the United States is actually fighting as allies with one group of (more moderate) Muslims against another (of radical Islamists). Yet the texts always deal with the Muslim community as a united whole (the umma), an interpretation that just doesn't correspond with reality. Indeed and ironically, this view enables Islamists to themselves kill thousands of Muslims all over the world!

The fact that Hassan's lecture has not been the centerpiece of the whole post-massacre debate is a true example of how impoverished are the "experts," journalists, and politicians at dealing with these issues. Of course, without exploring the Islamic factor, they're wasting everyone's time. They're also going to be wasting quite a few lives.

http://www.gloria-center.org/Gloria/2009/11/why-i-murdered.html

SALIM MANSUR – SUN MEDIA Saturday, November 14, 2009

The massacre in Fort Hood, Texas, was an act in the war the Islamists declared some three decades ago against America, the great Satan in particular, and the west in general.

At what point in his life Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan – 39 years of age, Muslim by birth to a Palestinian-American immigrant family and a psychiatrist serving in the U.S. military – became in his own mind a loyal soldier of the global Islamist jihad (war) is highly relevant as are other details of his private life in piecing together the psychological profile of this accused mass murderer.

It seems there can be no mistaking that Nidal Hasan went out as an Islamist warrior to kill as many infidels before he found his martyrdom.

A majority of Americans and most people in the west for any number of reasons, including multiculturalism and political correctness, are dismissive of the view that a war is being waged against them by a segment of the global Muslim population that seemingly has no political standing anywhere in the world.

This would not be the first time the liberal fallacy – the idea that since war is irrational, no rational people will deliberately ignite war – endangers a country against those dedicated to the politics of violence, as are the Islamists in our time.

Islamist terrorism is not an alien off-shoot within Muslim history. It is instead a mutation of a violent strain of Muslim religious thought and practice that might be traced back to the earliest years of Islam.

The basis of Islamism is in the binary thinking of its proponents, that the world is divided into two warring halves – those who accept the fundamentals of Islam and act upon them to establish society accordingly and those who reject Islam.

In recent years, such thinking resurfaced in political movements within the Muslim world which oppose the secular and liberal values of the modern world.

For Islamists, religion is politics and national identity and the purpose of their jihad until victory or death is to establish in the here and now Islamic rule associated with Muhammad and his companions in the first decades of the 7th century Arabia.

In achieving this goal, the Islamists are prepared to use any means. The world is witnessing the Islamist version of political authority in Iran under the ayatollahs and their henchmen, in Saudi Arabia under the compact of a tribal dynasty and the fanatic Wahhabi sect of Islam and got a glimpse of it in Afghanistan under the Taliban.

America, with Israel in tow as the little Satan, stands in the path of the Islamists. For Islamists, defeating the two Satans means driving them out of the Middle East.

Those Muslims who repudiate Islamism on the basis of their faith and their views on politics are considered apostates by Islamists and are to be hunted down as they did with president Anwar Sadat of Egypt and Benazir Bhutto of Pakistan.

Nidal Hasan acted on his Islamist belief as did the 19 Arab-Muslim terrorists on the morning of Sept. 11, 2001. He should be considered a war criminal and not a tragic victim of some mental illness and what he did was treason against his country.

We are looking forward to seeing many friends at the event. We're expecting many people to attend, and I'm told there are still some tickets left. So if you haven't purchased yours yet, call today - 718-677-6886 or register online at: https://secure40.securewebsession.com/hebron.site.aplus.net/english/form.php?id=4
You may have seen in the media that the NY left is trying to prevent the dinner from taking place at Citi Field and will probably show up to demonstrate on Saturday night. It is imperative that we have BIG numbers at the dinner, showing them that New York stands behind Hebron. (I even have a friend coming in from Texas, especially for this event!)

A couple of nights ago I had the privilege to attend an amazing wedding, of two amazing people, with an even more amazing story. Below are some of the photos at the ceremony, together with short version of Dr. Aharon Abraham's life story, translated from a Chabad Shabbat magazine. There's also a link to a half hour video of the wedding, at Ma'arat HaMachpela. Enjoy!
Also take a look at the photos of Kiryat Arba-Hebron's participation in International Clean Up week. (And see you Saturday night.)

The Doctor Who Shattered the Statues
Translated from article appearing in Hebrew in Sichat HaShavuah for Parshat Chaye Sarah http://www.chabad.org.il/Magazines/Article.asp?ArticleID=6356&CategoryID=1341
Video: http://www.hebron.com/english/show.php?id=147

A year ago, Dr. Aharon Abraham was Director at the ICU Medical Center in prestigious British Kennedy in Mumbai, India. The horrible terror attack at the Chabad house caused him to leave India and go to Israel."This house was the center of my life," he says with pain. "There we spent Shabbat and holidays. The terrorists took part of me, they took my soul. Following the incident, finally I decided to leave India and go to Israel. I have no more business there."

He currently resides in Kiryat Arba examining job opportunities suitable to his expertise and experience. Concurrently he completes the conversion process which he and his wife and children began in India, thereby closing a chapter of his life story, very not routinely.

Confrontation with the father

His previous name was Vagirds Frads. The story is very reminiscent of the story Abraham. His father was a senior Hindu cleric. "He had all kinds of statues, he attributed to them special powers," he says. "I did not understand how Dad honored a man-made statue. I didn't understand why Mother bother preparing food for statues, and sometimes I eat it in secret".

When grown up and graduated from high school, he began to confront openly his father. "I told Dad: How can you believe this nonsense?! Father heard and said nothing, had no answers. One day I took a hammer and simply smashed the statues. He shouted at me: the gods are angry! I answered him: If they're angry, let them do something, reconstruct themselves "...

Identification with Abraham

The young man left his village and enrolled to study medicine at the University of Mumbai, where he made contact with Christian students. They saw he was looking for faith, and gave him a Bible. "A new world opened before me," he recalls excitedly. "I eagerly read the Psalms and became acquainted with the figures of Moses and Abraham's story and with Am Israel."

He successfully graduated and became a doctor specializing in one of the medical centers in Mumbai where he met his wife, who worked as a nurse. She followed his interest in the Bible. After they married they decided to change their family name to 'Abraham', following the admiration they felt for Abraham. He also decided to change his first name to Aaron. "Aaron the priest was a wonderful person, full of glory," he explains with a smile.

That terrible night

They gradually made the decision to convert and become full-fledged Jews. The were tempted to undergo a Reform conversion, thinking they were already Jews. Then they met Chabad emissaries Rabbi Gabi and Rebecca Holtzberg HY"D in Mumbai. They approached him about their sick child (who later died later from disease). Following this bond, Dr. Abraham realized that a Reform conversion was worthless. He began studying Judaism with the Rabbi, while his wife studied with the Rabbi's wife.
'Our whole life centered around the Chabad House, "he said in a trembling voice." It's the only place where we could get kosher food. Gabi and Rivki were our guides, we did not move without them. They gave us Judaism and we gave them medical care for their sick child. We began a process of true conversion and found the extraordinary beauty of the Torah commandments. Then came that terrible night, and took away my Master ...". He sobs a few moments and says: "But what we learned from Gabi and Rivki will accompany us and our children forever."
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Tonight, having completed their conversion, Aharon and Ruth Malka Abraham married at Ma'arat HaMachpela in Hebron, on the first anniversary of the murder of Rabbi Gavriel and Rivka Holtzberg HY"D. Their children have new names too: Sarah, Shmuel Gavriel and Sharona Rivka.
